Anderson connector fitting
I've fitted an Anderson connector to the seat box of my Puma to allow for easy, quick jump starting of the horse lorry that is constantly flat Laughing

I so far haven't wired it to the battery, I intend to wire straight onto the +ve and -ve terminals. The positive is no problem due to the bolt attached to the terminal allowing connection. There is no equivalent bolt on the negative, has anyone got a solution to this? Also, is it advisable for me to fit an isolator or somehow fuse the feed to the connector. If yes, does anyone have a link to a suitable switch/fuse solution?

Simplest solution is take the supply off your 100 amp megafuse then stick a 30/40/60 amp in-line to your Anderson positive dependant on what you intend using it for. If those ratings aren't enough just rely on 'diversity' and the mega fuse. Do you know what the craking amperage is when jumpstarting?

cut the terminal off and fit a different type

something like this

just need to get a heavy duty ring tag crimped on to cable

you could fuse it , but would need to be 400-500a mega fuse

think he will need something bit heavier than that for jump starting a horse box lorry

tobz102 what size/amp rating Anderson connector have you fitted?

k9f that link is for 30amp fuse ?

personally I would a lot heavier like min 300amp for jump starting

The horse box is only on a 3.5ton van chassis it's not a lorry as such.

I've fitted 175A durite connector..

the 175a seem to be the most common used for jump leads
