Well, picked her up Wednesday evening, very happy with how it turned out.

She's still quite tight with less than 500 miles on her, so haven't properly thrashed it to its full potential yet, but initial impressions are good.

The Recaro's are excellent but at 6'3 my left knee is still just touching bulkhead, which is mildly annoying, need one more notch in the seat rail and I'll be clear of it, may have to have a look at that. The little swede covered momo is excellent too and gives the drivers position a lot more space.

The gear knob looks OTT but actually fits very well into the whole palm of your cupped hand and are quite nice to hang onto when belting through the twists!

The Laserlights are an excellent addition and really turn night into day, very pleased with them.

The interior dB levels are have been significantly reduced with the Dynamat which is great, handling is another vast improvement, with the fast road set up she's a lot less 'wallowy' in the corners very sure footed giving me great confidence in its abilities.

Couple of interior build niggles, which i won't let cloud my initial impressions, I'll cover them later on.

She's no Ferrari, but I wasn't looking for her to be one, the pick up and power delivery is instant, first gear is pretty much useless, way too shallow in the gearing ratio, but bags of torque and a nice smooth consistent pull from 2nd gear onwards, its actually great!

Here's a few picks from the dales:

I have to say that is the nicest Defender I have ever seen Mr. Green

Absolutely nailed the colour combo(Black on Green)

I off to get a cloth to wipe my chin (dribble dribble)
Thumbs Up

Hi Paul

Its not really a cage, its a windscreen protector, I don't think it adds any safety merit to the vehicle. It's just there to save the windscreen from branch strikes.
