Decat is still the cheapest and most worthwhile modification. The rest you mentioned will not give you any noticable gains but will drop the running temperature of your engine, reduce wear and give you a cleaner fuel burn. There is loads of information on the forum about the rest. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Hi Marc,
A stage 1 map will transform the drivability, as you will see. Adding a more efficient intercooler will help keep exhaust gas temps low, and engine efficiency up, adding (the potential for) more torque to even further improve the smoothness and drivability, not to mention the copious amounts of grunt! Silicone hoses won't add any extra performance, but they do look pretty! As for a decat, if you want the exhaust noise then go for it, but there are obvious down sides regarding MOT, both now and in future. You will notice a huge gain in low end grunt, and engine response/sharpness with my tuning, with your catalyst still in place, so you can have the 'decat' performance and stay legal too. Kind Regards, Gary. |
