Noise - metal to metal......
Hi Guys

I have a noise coming from underneath the landrover which only happens when the wheels are rotating - (2009 110 utility) and can only be described as bare metal scraping against bare metal.

At first I thought it may be one of the disk brake shields that had been bent and was coming into contact with the disk, but I've checked that out and everything is ok.

However, when I rotate the rear wheel, the noise is clearly coming from the section where the rear propshaft is attached to the (diff?) - sorry, struggling to upload photo.

I assume that this is a relatively straightforward fix, but would like to know what that fix should be?

If I can upload a photo later I will, but in the meantime any help much appreciated.

Rgds

I would whip off the wheels and check your pads,
That would be my first stop?
Then check the bearings.
I had a strange noise on my old disco and thought it was the rear diff,
Turned out to be a cracked rear wheel bearing, but felt fine when the wheel was spun, with zero play! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

Start with the easy things first and in this instance a stone trapped between a brake disc and the tin weather-shield can make a holy din sounding like metal on metal. Steve.
