I think I am in that range, are the range numbers BAS lists the last 6 numbers of the Chassis number? My engine numbers don't look anything like that format. I have a March 2013 version.
Cheers all. 2.2 90 XS 88" Series One Old Norton Minerva |

Thanks for that confirmation Munch. Looks like I am in the range then, except BAS shows letter pre-fixes LR and mine are DA.
Does that make any difference? 2.2 90 XS 88" Series One Old Norton Minerva |

Hi All,
To update on this, the Q421 campaign has been actioned and we will contact customers with vehicles within the VIN range with potentially affected vehicles. The VIN range is: LD405037 - LD443988 If you have not been contacted and your vehicles VIN falls between this range, please contact your local Land Rover approved retailer and provide them with your VIN for further assistance and clarification as to whether your vehicle requires Q421. Many thanks, Pete |

Hi All,
Just for clarification, the LD refers to the 3rd & 4th characters of your VIN which denotes it is a Landrover Defender. This combined with the last 6 of your VIN generates the 'Short VIN'. Many thanks, Pete |

Copy of PM from Pete this afternoon
Hi Lee, If the retailer have carried out Q421, the oil filter is listed as a component to be changed during this. The list you have posted with part numbers is correct. The retailers are instructed to replace the oil pump, oil sump, oil pickup pipe, oil pump outlet pipe, oil filter & refill with engine oil Correct components list: Description Part No./Sundry Qty. Oil pump LR058095 1x Oil pickup pipe LR029914 1x Oil pan LR007598 1x Sealant STC50550 1x Oil filter LR030778 1x Oil pump outlet pipe LR029925 1x Bolt FS106206 2x Bolt 4378449 4x Engine oil ZZZ001 Many thanks, Pete It's good to be back from the dark side DC110 -2012 Black with black hood and black x-tech FFRR 4.2 vogue Renault traffic auto PT crusier convertible Laika x700 Motorhome |

Find it odd on a social media brief when question is being posed openly not to respond publically for the benefit of all. |

Hi all,
Sparkylee had sent me a PM directly asking the question prior to my response on this thread, hence why I replied to his question directly by PM. However, I can confirm that Q421 requires the following actions: Replace the oil pump, oil sump, oil pickup pipe, oil pump outlet pipe, oil filter & refill with engine oil Using the following parts: Oil pump LR058095 x1 Oil pickup pipe LR029914 x1 Oil pan LR007598 x1 Sealant STC50550 x1 Oil filter LR030778 x1 Oil pump outlet pipe LR029925 x1 Bolt FS106206 x2 Bolt 4378449 x4 Engine oil ZZZ001 Many thanks, Pete |

Hi Pete Mine is not listed in Topix. Now I'm having concerns since it is mid 2012 (LD42....) Do I read your statement correctly, if I'm saying that only special customers are going to receive the new oil pump? And other costumers do not require Q421? And therefore have to rely on the dysfunctional pump? And how could that be - if the oil pumps from MY 2012 are identical? Otherwise, your statement would be more about the clarification if Q421 is still outstanding - or has successfully been completed before. Did you say it like this? Thanks in advance for your clarification. Julia |
