Indicator problems (x2)
(1) 09 Utility wagon, have been towing with it recently. Now without a trailer attached the trailer indicator light flashes when you indicate.

Any ideas folks?

(2) 96 110 CSW. When towing to get trailer indicator to flash left have to put pressure downwards on indicator stalk, seems to work then. Turn right lifting indicator stalk to top seems to work but more hit and miss. Works fine without a trailer

Time for a new indicator stalk??

Sounds like it's either the switch or a loose wire.

But I bet you can't buy the switch without the stalk!

Here, the trailer light comes up briefly when indicating, it does not flash though. It's been like that with both Defenders I owned so I deemed it as "normal".

As for (1) the trailer indicator flashes once if nothing is connected to the trailer socket (whether fitted or not). If you fit a bullbar with indicators it adds an extra bulb to the indicator circuit, just like connecting a trailer does. The flasher circuit detects this extra current and this causes the trailer lamp to flash as well to tell you the trailer indicator is working.

Two easy solutions: (a) replace the bulbs with 5W ones in the bullbar or (b) put LED bulbs in the bullbar indicators. This will stop it happening.

Of course the other thing that happens is that if you attach a trailer with LED lamps the trailer indicator doesn't flash for the same reasons as above.

As for (2) no idea Confused 110 2.4TDCi

Sounds like the switch on issue 2.
The switch/stalk sets are on ebay all the time, i think you have to remove the steering wheel and set up the automatic off function when re fitting the new one.

Its simple, just set the blue dial to the centre before refitting the steering wheel.

I purposely removed the blue circle that leads back to the arrows in his place, I feel very good. Smile Vale
