Performance intercooler
Hi,
I am looking to buy a new performance intercooler as the one I have has been split in 2 places - no idea how.

I have got a re-map from BAS. Any suggestions as to what intercooler to go for - I am looking at BAS and Alive.

Many tks.
Tim

If you've got a BAS tune, then surely BAS would be your first call?

Have you ruled out a repair on your existing one. Unclear from your post above as to whether this is standard or upgraded already?

They were my first call but I keep getting referred to by Pete to their website (www.bellautoservices.co.uk) which for some reason is not opening up on my browser. Hence why I have been looking for alternatives.

I haven't ruled out a repair on the existing which is an upgrade that I got from LR Parts. But figured that if that has cracked in less than 10 months of use, it can't be very good and didn't want to throw more money on something that has already proven to be unreliable Sad

Understand where you are coming from - out of interest have you been in touch with LR Parts?

No I haven't been in touch with LRP. While my first order with them which included the intercooler went really smooth the 2nd order which was a much smaller one was quite the opposite. It never arrived and ultimately the order was refunded after they found out that the order never left the uk. I had to do a lot of chasing and following up before it got finally sorted. Didn't have much hope thereafter of any redress with the intercooler Sad

I recommend alives offerings in the intercooler department. I wouldn't have an allisport one given to me after the last one I had rotted out in under 10k miles. Cheap rubbish core.

You will get an bigger/performance inter-cooler to get the inlet temperature down. I know lower is better but what is a max temperature to aim for? Roel

Roel,

I don't think you can quantify a target figure as there are too many variables, ambient temperature altitude/millibar reading etc. Suffice to say lower is indeed better and you know that already.
