Siren BBUS AMR4972
Bought one from Ebay but it occurred to me that changing the battery would be prudent, does anyone know how these open so I can have a look.

Yes I agree, I was thinking of a year down the line, prudent to change the batteries while its at work but if no one has changed them before just bought new, I'll won't bother Very Happy 2005 TD5 90 CSW XS

The batteries are not replaceable. They can be removed (a popular way to disable the BBUS) but it is destructive.

Apologies. It's a AMR 4971, I've plugged it in today but it just goes off on its own?

Questions

Is it naff?
Does this type not work on a 2005 TD5?
Do I need to buy another kind?
Have I wasted my money because I was being tightfisted buying one from Ebay and not from a dealer?

Im guessing answer number 4's going to be popular Very Happy

When you plug it in it will go off until the battery is charged which usually takes a couple of mins. After this has stopped leave it ten mins then disconnect the battery to see if it works and makes noise correctly, then reconnect battery and see if it stops sounding. I had one with the same part number but I'm guessing the battery was dead because it didn't sound when the battery was disconnected then went off for two mins when the battery was reconnected Big Cry
