England 2016 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Montalcino Red
[For Sale] Best D2 Available anywhere in the UK
Well, it’s with much regret that I am selling my 2002, on an 02 plate, Discovery 2 V8 Auto. She is a Japanese import and came from a “no or very little rain” part of Japan so has no and I mean no rust at all.

I bought her in August 2013 from an importer in Swansea with 28,000 miles on the clock and she now has 32,500 showing – the mileage is genuine as is the condition of the vehicle which other than some light scratches can only be described as being “as new” – there is no rust on this Disco at all and the chassis prior to Waxoyling was in mint condition with original paint still covering the chassis, axles and all of the underside. Indeed the chap doing the Waxoyling was shocked at how good she was and his words were “has this just come from the factory” are as true today as they were then.

She is a 5 seater from new so was on coils & shocks that have been uprated to Terrafirma 2” lift with extended drop for better articulation. She has beige cloth interior and NO sunroofs so no water leaks. I have used her for some off road days but these are only green lanes where standard vehicles have followed – ok I might have given a few "a bit of an assist" but nothing serious at all and I mean that.

I treat all of my vehicles with the utmost respect and if one of them needs something then it is done there and then as I pride myself on keeping them in excellent condition and no money is spared on the Disco with all parts fitted to the highest spec possible. She runs as good as new (well she would do with only 32,500 miles) and everything works as it should with no issues at all. Ice cold air conditioning, all lights and instruments working – even the cup holder and coin holders work as they should.

So here goes with a list and explanation of what has been done to her with some pics to follow;

Full service including the following;
All oils changed inc engine, gearbox, axles, transfer box & brake fluid
New twin spark plugs fitted
New Magnacor leads
New Coil Packs
New Discs all-round
New Pads all-round
Centre Pipe fitted to the exhaust – removed the ctr box

I did this even though the dealer said he gave her a service as I wanted the peace of mind knowing everything was new.

Window tint fitted to the rear doors and windows
2” Terrafirma Lift Kit – shocks and springs
Extended brake hoses fitted
Full brand new post facelift dash fitted and mileage set the same as the body control unit i.e. genuine mileage. I changed them as the old units only read in Km’s which I did not like and as I liked the new style clocks and they were less expensive than the older style I had them put in and synced up.
5 Zu Alloys fitted with 265/75/16 Cooper STT’s – covered about 4000 miles now
Full Waxoyl treatment – Waxworks in Morpeth
New uprated door speakers fitted – one of the speakers was not working and 4 were cheaper than one!!
Kenwood DAB Radio/CD/MP3/Bluetooth/Phone and antenna fitted – went for DAB to future proof
CB (Midland 7Cool and antenna fitted
Terrafirma HD Front bumper fitted – I bought this new in bear metal and has it Zinc coated and then powder coated twice
Recovery points fitted to bumper
Warn Zeon Winch fitted with Albright Solenoid
Plasma rope fitted
Aluminium Fairlead
Warn Remote for the winch
Super-Pro bush kit fitted
HD Steering bars fitted
New Ball Joints fitted
OEM CDL fitted and all working as it should
New window regulator fitted to front passenger window
New Power steering pump fitted
New Water Pump fitted
New Oil Cooler pipe fitted
Terrafirma Front and Rear Diff guards fitted
New Terrafirma Steering guard fitted
Terrafirma tow bar/recovery point fitted
OEM Mats all-round
Terrafirma steering damper
Uprated headlight bulbs
LED interior lights

She has just has an oil service and thorough check over at Cheviot 4x4 and wants for nothing.

I am selling due to the impending arrival of a new Defender in Sept and will have no use for her at that point.

So now to the price – well she aint gonna be cheap as I have a full record of what I have spent on her in a spreadsheet and in this condition she is probably the best Discovery 2 in the country by far. As she stands with all of the above I am looking for £10,750 ono – that’s ono not some ridiculously low offer!! I would consider removing some of the parts but it would be a shame especially due to the time, sweat and blood fitting them.

I will also throw in a Terrafirma HD rear bumper that I bought again in bare metal but have never fitted and was going to sell as I don’t think she needs it.

Here are a few pics prior to Waxoyling showing the chassis but if you want any more pics just let me know:

Had you been selling this a year ago I would have probably bitten your hand off!

Wanted a D2 in Diesel and realised I wouldn't find one for less than £12k that wasn't abused, high mileage, or rusted through!

Ended up buying my Defender 110 I have now!

Anyway, enough rattling, amazing vehicle and well worth the price by the looks of it! Good luck Thumbs Up Now: 2010 2.4 TDCi 110 Utility Wagon
Then: 2004 2.5 TD5 90 Hard Top (X-Tech Edition)

Still for sale chaps Thumbs Up

I can take some bits off to reduce the price such as the winch if that's of any interest. Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

I have been asked how I get to the price of £10,750 so here goes;

I have a detailed sheet of everything I have spent on the Discovery from the day I bought her and have either done the work myself under the supervision of Pete Bell of Bell Auto Services or Cheviot 4x4 or the work has been carried out by Cheviot 4x4. The total cost so far is £16,170.03 including the purchase price of the vehicle in August 2013.

Due to the low mileage and vehicle condition I value the std Discovery at £6,000 and then add the following - please this list is not everything I have added;

Suspension kit £400 so now valued at £200
Wheels & Tyres £1,400 so now valued at £850
Warn winch, plus rope, plus remote control plus other bits to fit £1,660 so now valued at £1,000
Front bumper £350 so now valued at £200
CDL at £260 and still at £260
Superpro kit at £450 now valued at £250
Diff guards, Steering guard & Steering bars £550 now valued at £300
New water pump and new steering pump £575 so now valued at £200
DAB radio & CB at £550 now valued at £300
Tow bar/Receiver hitch £200 now valued at £100
Brake ABS extensions, brake hose extension £250 now valued at £150
Window tints £200 now valued at £100
Brand new post facelift dash £450 now valued at £250
Engine work/kit at £1,500 now valued at £750
Other bits not listed £500

This gives a total of £11,410 in parts (and at the reduced price) and the cost of the vehicle without me adding in any fitting costs etc. Obviously I could take off several parts and sell separately such as the winch, CDL, underside protection, suspension kit (I do have the std kit to go back on) etc etc but I would prefer to sell as she is.

Hope this helps and I know I have missed some bits off so sorry.

Anyway price reduced to £10,500 ono. Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.

Russell - I'm not sure that you really need to justify the price / cost - This is a stunning example of the discovery and for someone it will be a great vehicle - Yes it's hard for some when looking through other adds and for sale vehicles to appreciate the difference that the work done and the condition of the Disco.

I shudder to think what I've spent on upgrades and modifications over the years on the vehicles - It is always easier to justify when you've had the vehicle from scratch and add bits slowly.

What someone is getting here is a mint condition V8 ready for whatever the owner wants to do - I'd love to take this off your hands timing is just not right - Big Cry Job market is not the best at the moment >>>>>

Best of luck with the sale

Can I add that I purchased my 110from Japseroony in April 2013 and it is a keeper. Whoever purchases this vehicle will NOT be disappointed. It will be the best V8 D2 on the market even before the modifications were added. Thumbs Up Adventure isn't paved!
