It was like Christmas this morning, several boxes kept appearing at the door.
So took the steering wheel off, (thanks Bob) counted splines all 36 of them, fitted boss, tightened up the nut then noticed that there was a gap of 3/8" between boss and plastic cover round the column and I could see the steering column. Not being sure if this situation was correct rang Alive and explained the problem to Ben who was very helpful and thought that the boss should fit closer to the plastic just like the old steering wheel. So off comes new steering wheel and boss after a game of tug o war, out with trusty callipers and rule, appears from first inspection that boss is not going on far enough to the column. Old steering wheel back on and awaiting some engineers blue to find out how far it is going on the column and if the splines are fully engaged. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

If yours is a my2015 model they have changed the steering column plastic so there will be a GAP if the boss does not take acount of this!

I don't normally go round bumping into things. unfortunately for the old couple I gather they have a lot going on in their heads - thankfully no one hurt and just a simple dent in the middle of their door - just a minor rub mark on my bumper end so it could have been much worse. |

Excossack, my boy was feeling a little smug when I picked him up from school on Friday, it turned out that a couple of his schoolmates and a teacher were trying to work out what was under the bonnet of mine when they heard it pull away that morning. They wouldn't believe my boy that it's just the Td5, allbeit with a stage 1 tune, de-cat pipe and centre box removed, they were convinced I had a big V8 in it

Fitted a D44 Transmission Guard (took loads of photos so doing a write up shortly), not as easy as it looks.
