What is going on
Occasionally 3 times in its life of nearly 3 yrs...i have started the truck and ABS and TC have stayed on...driven max of 100yrds stopped turned off, back on, lights still on drive 1m or 2 and they go off. the first time it happened I was in a queue of traffic.

It went to the dealers - nothing was logged, nothign wrong - i have had a quick look and could find nothing out of place.

Could it be dirt in the sensor and its just recalibrating? Mike

Mike,

Mine was similar...look here: It may help steer you to a solution: Thumbs Up

Especially this post from that thread:

Got vehicle back, problem was with the 'rear left outlet valve' aparently the cable had been routed incorrectly since manufacture and had chaffed against an adjacent loom. Result was it was shorting out and giving me the TC and ABS captions.
Cable has since been rerouted and repaired and it will not reoccur. Even gave it a clean for me bless 'em.

K9F's got a smile on his face and no captions getting on his t1ts on his instrument cluster, happy days. For now anyway!

Thumbs Up

Thanks

But i checked the route of the cable when i saw the post and it all seems ok - unless the chaffing is in a place i cant immediately see... Mike

Mike,

If you're technically able, got the wiring diagrams and an insulation/continuity tester and the time a half hour check would determine the servicability of the wiring! Thumbs Up

If not you'll either need to take it in or find a decent sparky! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I technically competent - just usually cant be bothered Thumbs Up

Is there a point where it went.

I wonder given 3 times in 3years, if its a wiring fault, but i suppose it has been a concentration within the last 1.5years Mike

Mike,

As you know intermittent snags are the worse to find! Even the dealers struggled to find mine until it had become permanent! Three times in three years is not much if it is working...with Winter and the crap weather associated with it your snag may manifest itself a little more??? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I know the system is working, what off roading ive done in the last few months has had it on...lastly on a odd, but good, hill climb - short grass affair now diff lock engaged Rolling Eyes (i wanted to see if it would and it did Mr. Green )

It could be worth another look underneath (which is why i wondered if there were any "pinch points") I did wonder if it was something like dirt or similar throwing a fault that then clears itself by its own self check...we had a VW that did that with its ESP.

Like you say i dont want it to fall over and cost more ££ Mike
