Key remote issues
I bought a while back one of these keys with integral fob but it does not seem to work as it should. Once vehicle is unlocked and started if I switch ignition off I need to re-lock the vehicle then unlock for it to be able to start. Rolling Eyes

Anyone else had this issue ?

I was planning on getting from Brendan one of the flip key and fob and don't want to experience same issues if it's a issue with just my vehicle.

sounds like the transponder chip is faulty or not there at all

when you unlock by the button that switches off imobiliser and unlocks doors

if you turn off without locking and open door get in , then the chip turns the imobiliser off

say sounds like chip is not working or poss its not there on that type of key

if you still got a standard fob and key I take it that works ok ?

Have you just tried pressing unlock quickly instead even though it's already unlocked?

Could be the transponder pick up coil around the ignition barrel (presuming it has one to start with)

Simon

you need to reset the AS10 Alarm ECU....

IMHO isn't the fob.

I will take a look tomorrow tipping it down here now.

Yes it has the coil but that has been moved slightly due to fitting XENG lock shroud but key never worked correctly before coil was moved.

No issue with standard key and fob that works just fine. 993 Varioram - Guards Red

Is it doing it all the time or is the immobiliser arming itself first. (Red flash on dash)

Steve with the all in one key it only works once to start the car second time it's immobilised so have to lock unlock and then start. 993 Varioram - Guards Red

99.9% sure its the chip in the key

sounds like its the wrong key internals for the later alarm units

maybe for the older units as fitted to rover 200's etc , they done same thing , you had to push buttom after imob cut in

I got this from group buy on here quite a while back from dgardel I seem to recall. Mine is a 2.2 I guess I must have been only one to have an issue. 993 Varioram - Guards Red

Simon, try a fob re-synch of the 10AS and see if that helps. On the key fob press unlock then lock 4 times within range of the 10AS.
