From a safety point of view always consider the rigid guard.
Think of the consequences for you and your dog if it comes hurling towards you at 30mph?!? Just my thoughts... ( I have 2 dogs/ rigid guard takes 5 mins in or out) Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... I see your point mate, it's just I like to have access to the rear all the time and I'm quite tall so the seat will be all the way back, they don't go in there often enough to justify a cage either really. I just want a deterrent to stop them putting muddy paws all over my nice new XS seats 😎 haha. I was thinking like a cargo net joined to the roof and the top of the bulkhead but not sure how to attach it to the roof without messing about with the headlining too much. 2009 Defender County Hard Top (gone 😞)

Fair enough I had one of these for my springer to solve the same problem in my D2:

That looks pretty good fair play could be an option! Although you have got me thinking about a cage now if I can get one that folds up that I can put in quick before we go anywhere, as long as they do one big enough for a springy boxer and an elderly lab haha! 2009 Defender County Hard Top (gone 😞)
