Not at all Marc, none intended and none taken...
It is a great addition for me but, as I suggested, will not be to everyone's taste... We are all individuals after all... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

I like this, Looks OE but a little bit retro too. However, I might have a problem with the dished version too, & without being able to "test drive" both, I'll probably remain with the standard wheel. Pickles. |

like SGH and ericvv I went for the Startech...and love it, could never go back now.
Apart form the look and feel LR really shouldn't fit the 'false airbag' looking steering wheel in the current Defender, the replacement will of course be different... SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

would it be possible for you to measure the distance from the back of the Startech steering wheel to the topside of the binnacle and to the indicator stalk?

Hello tookaphotoof
Startech dimensions are shown below, basically there is a 60+mm clearance > reach between the rear face of the wheel and the TDC of the binnacle and both indicator / wiper stalks. Hello a13x Price is the bad bit, between 442-560 Euros (330-420 GBP). I didn't pay this as mine was fitted by BLR to an upgrade order that I took over so it was 'lost' in the overall deal. BLR typically fit this one but will do the mono / an-other route too, basically what the customer wants. It is nice but you need to want it, to see past the £300 + price tag, others may have found a better source but a quick look found these...if a Euro purchase, i.e not sourced in the UK then there is the cost of getting it here (which I have just done on a 'must have' piece of Canadian Kit and it's certainly a factor ) http://www.startech.de/en/land-rover/land-...liste.html http://www.best-of-land.com/en/shop/parts/...der-bol546 Good Luck. X4SKP, those measurements were very useful thanks.
I went out & measured my standard '13 wheel, & it's 410MM!! By the looks of it, your wheel would be about 5-6mm closer to the driver than with the original wheel? Pickles. |

Wow! Couldn't have measured it better then this. Thanks very much.
Going to measure for safety tomorrow and think hard if I'm going to fit a smaller flat Moto Lita or the Startech. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it looks really good! 😎 |
