Switzerland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
Couple of things about the Startech.
Expensive, but the boss is included in the price. Which not always the case with others.
My Startech boss perfectly cancels out the turn signal.
Indeed there are a few extra cm space between the back of the wheel and the turnsignal command, but you get used to that within a week.
Overall, even if the wheel may sit a few cm closer to you, the fact that it is smaller makes it a totally different and more comfy driving experience than the standard wheel.
If you order it from Startech as the black colored version, and if you do not specify anything else, you will get white stitching. In order to match my black SVX interior I specified black stitching which came (naturally) as a zero cost option. Other colors stitching are available too, probably also at no extra cost.
My Startech must be in the SVX now 4 years or so, the leather remains as new.
Last, you can call the Startech an original Land Rover equipment as in a number of markets, Germany and Switzerland in the first place, Land Rover themselves are putting this Startech steering wheel in some of their limited editions from new. (Black Pearl, Hunter, Blaser editions)Thumbs Up
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Very happy with a 14" wheel so much more comfortable than the the original wheel. I did contemplate a 15" in the first instance glad i didnt, dial are not obscured at all my picture isn't the best

I have considered fitting an after market steering wheel to my 2008 110 as I am fed up with banging my not so humorous bone but have had this nagging feeling that more effort would be needed to turn the steering wheel, does anyone have any advice on this. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Might need to swap our leather XS wheel for a smaller momo or startech. Since having the new seats fitted I think the car would benefit from a smaller diameter wheel. 2015 Audi Q3 Quattro S Line Plus 184 TDI Stronic

And with either the Momo, or Startech, you can now match the stitching to your new RED seats Catherine... Whistle  Rog... Mr. Green

Most of the bosses for aftermarket wheels are far too thick which in turn makes it look aftermarket And diy I know thinner bosses are available but it's at extra cost anyone have a pic of startech boss

Can I order a Startech through Land Rover direct?

If not where can I order to take advantage of the good euro exchange rate we have at the moment?

I've tried using their website and its crap.

Click on the steering wheel and nothing happens. Don't think they have online ordering. Go on the dealer locator and click and no results come up. Click on their contact page, filled out their form and clicked send and nothing happens. Didn't really want to go to the expense of phone Germany. Last resort may be facebook!

You did not search hard enough John Razz

Now we get to the 'interesting' bit of Defender ownership.

There are at least 3 different bosses

1) 36 Spline boss

2) 48 Spline boss

3) DSC Boss. This is probably the easy one to find out. Look at VIN number which goes from FA000001 from sometime in 2014 or look for DSC button. No DSC boss until next month

Later Pumas should be 48 spline, but do not take it for gospel. Early TDci toss a coin or pull your steering wheel off and start counting or measuring 36 spline = 17mm, 48 spline 19 mm

We do have a Startech steering wheel on the shelf, but not sure of bosses. Definitely do not have a DSC boss.

Startech steering wheel no boss £370 inc VAT but not carriage

Startech steering wheel with 36/48 boss £400 inc VAT but not carriage

Startech steering wheel with DSC boss £450 inc VAT but not carriage

DSC boss out of stock until next month.

Last delivery for this month from Germany on its way now. Another delivery coming next month if anyone wants Startech steering wheels or other bits

Hi John, sometimes I do not know what is on the consignment until I opened them up.

A bit like Christmas at times down at the units Thumbs Up

We have all sorts on our shelves which are not on the website yet.

Now if I remember correctly we have German, Belgium, American and UK beer in the lock up at the moment. The hired friends at shows do not have to worry about liquid refreshment at the shows. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Hic Thumbs Up

Sometimes I get interesting reading material as well.
