Laughing DaveW,

It's not there to be pedestrian friendly , Shocked it's to mount my lighs on Whistle

To be fair if I were to hit anyone at a reasonable rate of knots, they would either disappear underneath, or due to the rake ( or lack of ) the windscreen, they would be sat in the passenger seat Mr. Green

I will most likely run without anything in the receiver when I find something to neatly plug it or cap it off Thumbs Up

Cheers,

Nick. "Procrastination is the thief of time"

Hi Nitram,

The extreme one you linked to , is , as far as I am aware , a safari equipment one, they , I guess, buy them just as brendan does , and distribute them.
I could be wrong, but I don't think SE deal direct with the public.

I went with brendan, as I have had various things from him and Barbara, they are always there on the phone when needed, the advice is superb, and things turn up super fast, well packaged , and prices are as keen as they can make them, whilst still earning a living.
Brendan did do me a deal so to speak, as the one I bought had some slight storage damage , though I know they have just received another two into stock ( there is normally a 5-6 week wait , as they are made in batches )

I don't know what the postage from extreme would be, thought I cant imagine it would be cheap , as they weigh a lot!!

Give Overlander a bell and speak to them Thumbs Up Rolling Eyes

Thanks window....Safari do sell to the public they just dont give their prices up front on their website im looking at the rear corner bumpers, wheel carrier and steering guard.... when funds become available!
I was just comparing prices ..as you do!Thanks again....Martin

Hi Martin,

Apologies , that's why I was thinking they dont deal direct, as I also had not seen any prices shown.
That's a reasonable shopping list you have there Mr. Green

Lorryman , thanks for the heads up, I will have to get one sorted Thumbs Up

Cheers,

Thank you for the report and kind words WL Thumbs Up

Extreme 4x4 does sell the Safari Equip gear just like us, however I believe our prices and carriage costs are a fractionally better then Extreme 4 x 4.

Safari Equip are predominantly manufacturers and are geared up to dealing with the trade but they will sell to the public.

The factory is close to us and we can get one offs made for our customers. We have had the 2" receiver in the steering moved by about maximum of 7" towards the nearside which gives a better view down the side of trailer/caravan when shunting trailers in tight places..

We have had special one off attachments made for 2" customers.

So no real problem with one offs being done. However with one offs we do require payment up front and there may well be a delay of a few weeks to get things made. As a small factory they do batch productions rather then continuous production so it would depend when they do the next batch.

WL have to go to the factory this week and collect some gear this week so if I remember I will pick up a few 2" rubber plugs Thumbs Up

Andy, I am pretty sure have seen the 2" plugs on the shelves at Safari Equip. Going there later this week to pick up stock so if I remember I will get some.

Brendan, is the device at the bottom right of your photo simply an extension tube to bring the attachment further forward? If so it could be the answer to my protrusion issue! Thanks!

Do I really want to know about your protrusion issues BW?? Razz

Yes it is an extension piece. If need be could either have a separate extension piece made or get the steering guard made with longer 2" receiver built in.

Thanks! Thumbs Up

Will be in touch once there's enough in the piggy bank - sadly it hasn't recovered from Christmas and the new year round of insurance renewals yet. Big Cry
