Horn problems
Hi all,
Has anyone had the issue that I have?
When using the rear wash wipe the horn sounds! The horn works normally on the stalk but the rear wash fails to operate!
Had a quick word at the main dealers last week when I took my wife's freelancer 2 in and they hadn't heard or experienced anything like it
Thoughts and ides appreciated
Greg

Yes! The fool who owned mine before me had bodged the wiring from the rear wash wipe onto the horn ON PURPOSE! But I reckon someone has just mixed up the wiring plug on yours. Washer bottle and horn near back of n/s/f headlight so try swap the two connectors over and see what happens.

Then that's odd. Has it been in for any work at all?

That is really bizarre, you'd think it was an earth fault but I even think that the horn and rear wash wipe are in different fuse boxes.

The only other thing is that maybe there is a shorted wire somewhere, especially if the location as described above putting the looms for the rear wash and horn in the same place.

Check for a mouse nest! Laughing I kid you not. My race car was suffering strange problems and we eventually found an old mouse nest at the back of the engine and they had chewed through some of the loom.

What happens if you pull the Horn fuse out? On your model, I think it's Fuse 3 in the fuse box under the drivers seat. Craig Rogers
