I'll be looking at booking this.
I liked this extract from the write up-:- "We were amazed how little the Defender manufacturing process has changed in the last six decades with individual craftsmanship still at the heart of each vehicle produced. We also witnessed Jaguar Land Rover's rigorous quality control processes, including testing in the monsoon chamber where vehicles are subjected to 343 high-pressure water jets for 14 minutes to ensure there are no water leaks." |

Thanks for sharing this link I have just booked in for 24th July - really looking forward to it. Would have kicked myself if I didn't do a factory visit before production ceased. 2016 Defender 90xs SW - Santorini Black with Silver Pack 2014 Defender 90xs SW - Corris Grey with Santorini Black Roof |

Will have to try and see if I can add this into my next trip south in April. I have an LRE day at Eastnor to do so it will make another reason to justify the trip! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Lets you book right up to march 2018. So they're continuing to build it for other markets until then for other markets?

You may be able to book a "Tour" until that date for whatever, but you won't see any Defenders being built if you're there after 20th December 2015.

My dealer said the final build date has been bought forward to July so I'd get up there prior to then.

July may be the date final orders but it isn't the date of final production, so I reckon everyone'll be right until December,......except me, 'cause we're too far away.
I believe JLR should produce a Defender DVD detailing all of the production process from the stamping of body panels to customer delivery,.......and if this is not done now, it'll be lost forever. Pickles. |
