England 2002 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Zambezi Silver
All very useful given its like trying to nail jelly to the wall placing a price! Having thought about moving away from Defenders this one came in to view albeit significantly more than I originally wanted to spend with a house to do up etc etc. No- one has admitted paying more than £11+k for a 110 so that is probably a good enough indicator!!

We will see but the opinions are very useful, many thanks.

I wouldn't part with it even if I got offered 'Puma' money, took me forever to find it.

Tiger is it rude to ask which side of £10k you were with yours?

Buying this time of year will usually result in the"snow tax" having been added to the price. It wasn't me!

Prices for any Land Rover are hard to fathom at the best of times. I bought my 2002 110 six years ago at auction for around 5k with full service history and one owner, yes it was tatty but complete. If I wanted a pristine motor I could have spent as much again to give me the XS style by adding the bits on with the replaced bits part funding the new but my lifestyle warrants different add one. Since I bought it I have seen them so called book value rise and even if I returned it to its as bought condition I'd make money on it but it's not for sale. It has been the best motor I have ever had plus it is to my taste. Defenders are what you make them, it is part of the life you buy into with them. Personally I would be swayed by the mechanicals, the style you want can come in time.

All part of the Defender roller coaster of ownership although it starts before even owning one!! I should have kept the trusty 300Tdi then I wouldn't be in this potentially expensive position!

Ha, with you there. I have a 200 Tdi 90 of my own that i've done a lot of work on recently.

I'd love to use that as an every day motor again but given the opportunity to buy the old family Td5 90 at the trade in price i stated i'm biting the bullet and going for it. It's not going to loose much more money now I figure and it's in perfect order.

It's hard to put a price on them as if it's a pristine, well looked after "good un" then you'll end up spending far less on maintenance / repairs and soon outweigh the cost of buying a cheap dog.

Half of the fun is in finding something nice, at the right price, I love looking for vehicles, I dread to think how many hours I've spent looking at used cars for that elusive bargain, then when the right one does eventually come up, I dilly dally around and can't make my mind up. I've come to the conclusion that it's all in the chase!

As long as the chase leads to the right result!

I like you have spent a fair bit of time looking, swinging back and forward over whether to get another Defender....or dare I say it, something else.
