Having just stripped a dash to replace a bulkhead, I'm sure (without going in the garage to verify) that that cable goes into the lower part of the dash, when I took it off, I actually thought 'that looks a bit tricky to replace!
I'm about to go out for the morning, though I'd be happy to take pics of the dash and or see if there's a 'cheat' way of doing it. |

Right then, not gonna kid you, it's a bit of a big job. Either put a day aside to strip the dash entirely, or the easy option... go down your local bike shop and ask them for an off-cut of an inner brake or gear cable and attach it to the bit that you have at the lever end, I'd use a very small block connector...or solder it (as you're a 'Ham' )
If you need pics of the dash/flap end, let me have an email and I'll send you them. |

Thanks. I think it will be a fix job as the flaps dont appear to be operating as they should, they flaps appear stiff...
At the mo, I think the passenger side one is partly open and the drivers side open more. Will PM email address over in a mo and yup,I am a ham (2E0DHN) 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
