R380 5th gear ratio.
After my other topic about my gearbox knocking I'm going to get it reconditioned. But while there at it Ashcroft's can fit a 0.732 5th gear ratio out of the v8 box which they say is 5% higher than the standard ratio.

So has anyone done this and is it worth it. I will be doing quite a few motorway miles in it. It's currently running 265.75.16 mtr's but I'm wanting to go to 285's at some point.

Any feedback would be great. Chris.

I have it on my td5 stage 2 with a 1.2 transfer box and it is super I can still take a 3t trailer down the motorway but when empty it is a super motorway drive. Granted I probally wouldn't have this set up on standard tune but would probably go for the uprated 5th over the tbox

Thanks, it's already got an Ali sport intercooler and will probably be putting a performance head on it. So should have the power.

£495 for a recon box plus £100 for the higher ratio 5th gear.
