Am I missing something, aren't these very nice, albeit very pricey, cars still going to leak and be subject to all the other endearing features which make a Defender a Defender and not, well, a Range Rover?
This isn't a dig at the run-out models by the way. The Defender just seems the most inappropriate base vehicle to turn into a swanky leather palace. Each to their own, just my humble view, carry on ... |

I like it - but the pricing is just crazy. Well Done LR for shifting the lot.

^^ Pics... Not even a set of Recaros or Startech steering wheel for that price. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

They didn't need to because as they knew they would, people were willing to pay £60k to buy a piece of history in the form of 1/80 'luxury' Defenders (myself included)!
However, I am disappointed to learn that they will NOT be numbered... Will be very annoyed if this means LR is building more than 80 for the UK. |

I can't see how these will be 'the defender' that becomes the collectors item once production is finished.
As a defender owner I like the interior, however it will still be noisy and unrefined, possibly will leak etc. will need to strip it out and soundproof etc if want a little refinement. It's not where I would put £60k believing to be a piece of history. |

Collectability, in my opinion, is all about desirability. Whilst the Classic and Adventure are lovely cars, producing just 80 Autobiography models makes things much more exclusive. Moving forwards, I believe they will all be collectable in their own rights. However, I do feel the Heritage is way too basic of a spec to be a collectable in the future as such. The Defender is already dated and in the future not having things like A/C or a radio will put most buyers off IMO.
