Best way to run light bar cable through roof?
Help can anyone give me some advice on the best way to run cable to a led light I want to mount on my roof rack. I would like to be vale to unplug light to remove roof rack from time to time. Any suggestions on water proof surface mount plugs and where to site it? Shocked

Picture of what you have done would be great

Thanks Andy

Have a look on the mobilecentre website or call Tim, I bought a couple about Ł30 and made for marine environments

With regards to cable routing, if you don't want to drill your roof then you can always run a cable up the A pillar, through the door frame where the seal sticks on and then drill a hole through the gutter and go straight up through the gutter. Cheers, David

Mine goes along the snorkel, between the gap under the bonnet, through the motorcompartment, underneath the car and through the plate under the cubbybox.

I.a.w. only a hole through that plate. No holes through roof!

My preferred option is pretty much the same as Zone30's, ie to run a trunked cable down the outside of the RAI, through the gap between bonnet and wing, but I'd put a connector just under the bonnet.

It is tidy, doesn't require puncturing any body panels, and can be removed easily if the rack is to come off.

Ran my cables from the second battery along the rear tub, out the rear of the hard top, into a connector (from Mobilecentre) then along the roof rack to the LED lights..

I can remove the roof rack and lights with out any issues of water ingress.

This is the connector to use mounted on the rear of the hardtop http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/index.php?ma...mp;pID=701 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top
