Am not sure how good ACF 50 is at cleaning electrical contacts. Would suggest purpose made Electrical contact cleaner which should be available in your local motor shed
We have some marine/electrical engineers on board so will be interesting to see what they recommend.. Brendan |

Taken directly from the uK website: "ACF-50 contains no water and is approved for electrics so spray directly into electrical joints and components where it will prevent corrosion induced failures and high resistance joints. ACF-50 has strong capillary action so will creep into all the areas that moisture can, 'actively' pushing out moisture and replacing it with protection." |

Thanks, I will dig around a little more but this seems like it would do the job.

I would disconnect the battery and remove all the fuses, liberally spray the board with a 'branded' contact cleaner such as the one in your link and 'work it in' with a stiff brush. Once finished wash down with the same cleaner and wipe off any residue.
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

really contact clearer is only to clean oil grease etc from electrical things as far as I know , ive never found one to clean corrosion
as k9f it really needs cleaning properly I would remove all the fuses , making a note of where they went , spray with acf or wd etc , when a while then using a very thin flat file give each fuse slot a clean ( use something like a modellers file ) making sure you don't open the slots up so fuses are loose , then rinse with acf or wd , and if poss a compressed air blow out , then respray lightly with acf / wd so prevent new corrosion refit fuses in correct places |

Thanks one and all - I think I just need to stop any more corrosion and the WD or ACF would do just that. I will report back one the job is done - I will disconnect the battery, photograph the panel, remove the fuses, spray, wipe, clean, etc.
