Folding Key into Alarm fob
Nakatanenga are now offering a folding key into alarm fob for Defenders up to 2011 for 125 euros plus 18 euros insured shipping back to the UK

If 10+ people are interested we could offer a discount on this price

Quote:

Who has not been annoyed about the separate wireless remote control and the non-folding keys to his Defenders? The solution is simple:

Send us keys and remote control via insured shipping to
After payment we will lead the transformation of the key in our house for you by
You will receive the new folding key (incl. Wireless remote and transponder), the old key and blank, no longer functioning remote control back
The insured return shipping usually takes place on the same day (subject to receipt of payment)
So after the reconstruction you have a modern folding key with remote control for your Defender as well as a simple spare key.

The conversion is suitable for all Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 with remote control and up to model year 2011. For newer vehicles this conversion is not suitable.

At this stage we are just trying to gauge interest.

If sufficient people are interested we will work out the finer details and prices.

Does it use an "old type" ignition key connected to the flip out piece? so would fit Td5's etc?

I suppose a nanocom type thing is needed to program in the new fob part to the 10AS?

Hmmmm tempting Whistle

Interested.
Find that these are difficult if not impossible to fit to a keyring, would be good if they come with a decent one fitted so its possible to add other keys ???

Would prefer a DIY kit if possible???

IIRC because the fob frequency changed and newer Defenders have a different fob anyway.

I've not long shelled out for new keys etc myself but these are nice, much better than the cheaper jobs available.

According to their website; you send them your old remote and key and they fit it into one of these and cut the blade. You then get back the old key and the new one with remains of the old remote.

one thing I think would be a pain is the amount the key would stick out of ign switch being all in one even more so if you got a fair size bunch if keys

So some more details.

Normal one off price from Nakatanenga is 125 euros plus 18 euros carriage back to the UK

If we get 10 confirmed purchases we can do this for £95 each including VAT, carriage to Germany and postage back to you in the UK.

For this you get

Quote:

Send us keys and remote control via insured shipping to
After payment we will lead the transformation of the key in our house for you by
You will receive the new folding key (incl. Wireless remote and transponder), the old key and blank, no longer functioning remote control back
The insured return shipping usually takes place on the same day (subject to receipt of payment)
So after the reconstruction you have a modern folding key with remote control for your Defender as well as a simple spare key.

If you wish to take part please sign up in the confirmed list.

For this to work successfully we would require a key and your spare alarm fob posting to us, with both of the items clearly labelled with your name.

Our postal address is

4x4Overlander Ltd
Holmfield Mills
Holdsworth Road
HALIFAX
HX3 6SN

We will only be sending one parcel to Germany with the keys/alarm fobs in. For this to work efficiently we need everybody in the group buy to send us the keys at the same time as it will be only one package going to Germany.

Any questions ask away.
