As above you can have either if you wanted, my trailer is on filament bulbs as its only a small one so not an issue for me.
If I was to use LED's in the trailer I would go for resistors on this occasion as its only for the indicators.
The choice is yours, you could of course use a buzzer as mentioned above too.

CustomSteve, If I do at some point want to go to leds in the trailers, I will surely come back to you for some more advice as to where to put the resistors. In the meantime Happy New year.

Thumbs Up The buzzer works just as well except with this you have some wiring to do on the LR.
With resistors on the trailer you've got a litte extra wiring on the trailer to do.
A full trailer re-wire is a lot easier and cheaper than the factory loom.
For this reason, I would choose resistors.
They aren't ideal but there is no other option that'd be viable to up the current draw.
