Speaker Headlights
Hi Gang,
Looking for a tad of advice.
I have a set of Speaker headlights due soon and I don't know if there will be issues wiring up my main beam lamps there now.
Please see piccy.

My main beam is separate to the headlights that will be replaced.
So when the new H/L's are fitted do I run a feed from the original main beam lamps to the new H/L's to activate the main beam in the new ones as well as the original lamps.

If so, do I fit anything inline (resistor / relay / wing & a prayer).

Cheers in advance....

Mac.

Mac, not sure what you are talking about here. In your picture is the regular SVX front. That has a main 7 inch headlamp which has a high/low function. Additionally the SVX front has the 90mm auxiliary high beam lamp, which with high beam is additional to, but does not replace the high beam of the main headlamp.
So if you have the standard SVX lamp set up without modifications, you just replace your halogen 7 inch main headlamp by the Speaker headlamp, with the standard plug, and this will like with your halogens give you high/low beam.
You do not touch the 90mm aux headlamp, like before, that remains a additional aux high beam lamp.
Hope clear, Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Cheers Eric,
I thought the aux lights were the main beam....Doh!!
My 7" headlights do side lights / normal lights and high beam.
So it should be a simple plug and play jobbie..

Thanks for the responses Gents... Thumbs Up

If you just have the SVX and the JWS with side lamp, the job is 95% P&P

Just install the Defender light frame, connect the side light to the JWS wires (better if you add a sealed connector, this is the 5% not P&P part), With a multimeter che the positive (+12V) when the side/marker is ON.
Connect the single cable from the JWS to this one

plug the H4 connector, fix the lights,

job done!!!
