Yea bit pricey , but think it would suit , old and new look etc
Mini is a self contained unit , matrix and fan in one unit , might not look the best to be honest |

When I bought my 110 V8, it had an enormous cubby box fitted with what I think is a standard LR heater matrix nad fan t-eed in to the coolant circuit, in series with the LPG vaporiser. It's one of the best things about the vehicle, as far as the children are concerned. In the Defender, when it is cold, it takes an age for the rear footwell to warm up and when it is really cold it simply doesn't.

I've definitely seen an arrangement where the air from the 'down' (footwell) setting is diverted via two tubes to out the back of the centre cubby. Cheers, David

Thats the sort of thing, but its working out where to put a unit. Under the rear seats?? Also running the pipe work to it should not be to bad. Just tap into the pipes in engine bay & route along chassis & up & in Anybody done an extra heater in a Puma yet?? Chris 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility. how would you plumb in the aux heater ?
tee into std heater pipes , possible air lock problems with coolant not being pushed in one length direction ? ( this way your adding onto primary cooling circuit , but not in a one pipe length circuit if that makes any sense ) or take feed to aux heater from outlet to std heater , then aux outlet to std heater return pipe to the engine , so really coolant is pumped round in one direction still ? (this way your adding to primary cooling circuit , but in one pipe length , ok I know your using water that's already been through std heater , but guess it would still be hot enough to use again ) not sure ? never done it myself |

Please see enclosed pics of my rear heater, installed by PO. He was a boat builder, so everything is made out of wood/mdf where possible. The cubby is enormous, but the heater does work remarkably well for heating the kids feet in winter.

I've been following this thread with interest as thinking about the same for my 110 SW and heating for the passengers (ie kids) in the back.
I like the look of the sa12-5000-3 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SA12-5000-3-12-V...1199118786), but as this draws 50amps I was wondering if the alternator would be okay with extra draw on a cold morning just after starting? I was thinking about mounting under the second row of seats. Thoughts..... |

alt will be fine, it depends on the battery and how long its going to run for before being turned off again and expecting restart. Cheers
