Can anyone tell me what the Road Tax will be on a 2007 2.4 TDCI Hard Top?

From another thread....Tantamount to 'Daylight Robbery.' Big Cry

For me owning a 2008 XS I am paying what tantamounts to a tax that was abolished 170 years ago but was reintroduced in the automotive world!

Big Cry The window tax was a significant social, cultural, and architectural force in the kingdoms of England, Scotland and then Great Britain during the 18th and 19th centuries. Some houses from the period can be seen to have bricked-up window-spaces (ready to be glazed at a later date), as a result of the tax.

Anyone got any mortar and bricks going spare? Laughing

How is it possible that some are £225 and another one is £500?

Edited to say, is it because one could be a Station Wagon and the other a Hard Top and classed as a commercial?

one classed as a car the other a van basically

when I brought mine classed as car you get high road tax but lower vat on the buying price so its a bit swings and roundabouts really

I think if your selling a 2.4 with high road tax to get a 2.2 with lower road tax , all your really doing is paying a load of tax up front in the extra vat you pay being its classed as a van and being a van it can bring insurance issues with some companys if you want to insure for private

So if ours is a Hard Top, I'm guessing it will be the £225?

£225 N1 commercial.
Put some windows in the back too if you like, won't make any difference.
