Is it possible to fit Puma rear seats (forward facing folding type) into a 90 TD5?
If so, is it relatively easy? Thanks |

To clarify:
I'm wondering if I can remove the side facing seats from a 90 TD5 and replace with the forward facing seats from a 90 Puma Currently the kid sits in the front and SWMBO sits in the back - constantly moaning Would like to remedy this situation......... So the question is: 1/ Is it possible 2/ Is it easy to find seats 3/ Is it relatively easy to do the work Thanks in advance |

Exmoor trim seems to be the way to go, much cheaper than sourcing genuine Puma Seats.
http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/images/stories/catalogue/cat.pdf If the kids are big enough not to use child seats/boosters you can use these ones http://www.brookwell.co.uk/item/4768/forward-facing-fold-up-l-h Otherwise they do a better version with built in seat belt post mounting (like the LR seats). They are in the catalogue (Page 21) but I can't find a price? MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

Thanks to all who have responded
I need a seat suitable for use with a child seat - so settled on the lock & fold Here's what Exmoor say "Thank you for your enquiry. At this time our Lock & Fold are not available as they are being re-designed. We envisage that the new seat will be launched at the end of August. As you can appreciate the frames have to undergo rigorous testing before they receive certification" chopdogs |

Im thinking of doing the same. The land rover seats look the business.
Ive had a price, the seats are 409 for cloth and 468 for leather, been told to allow 400 for brackets etc. Trying to get more info. |

Hi Paul
Is that £408/469 per pair? If so, can you buy just one seat? Also, £400 seems very expensive for brackets when compared to the cost of the seats......... Thnaks for the info chopdogs |

the rear tub of the puma has been significantly reinforced to accomodate the forward facing seats.
it would be possible to fit the puma forward facing, but some metal work would need to be added under the wheel arches. if you need some pictures, pm me and I will email you some. |

Hi
I've joined this forum as I have the same situation of wanting to fit forward facing seats in my SW 90. Back in Dec, I was going to buy the cheaper ones Exmoor trim were selling, but following a visit to the factory, I decided to wait, as they were having a new fabric arriving, which was a better matched against the 50th anniversary cloth in mine. seven months on and the cloth is still not available due to a set back, so decided to order the cheaper version in black. Turns out these are now obsolete and only the approved fold and lock are on offer, which are now being upgraded to a newer version 2 Due to the cost of the F&L version I could buy Puma ones cheaper, but don't want to modify my bodywork to fit. Question is?? could I fit Puma ones without modifying the bodywork?? As it's going to cost well over £1K to buy the Exmoor ones, or I'm thinking I could use my inward facing one and have a pair of bespoke brackets made to convert them to FF ones, that way the cloth would all match.. Any thoughts anyone |

The short answer is probably no. Whilst anything is possible, they'd need a lot of modification as if mounted to the normal height wheel boxes they wouldn't reach the floor. None of the standard bracketry would fit and would have to be re-made or substantially altered. Plus they'd be so high that they'd only suit short passengers. Darren

The biggest issue it the wheel arches on Puma vehicles have a step on them. If you cut out the corner of the existing wheel arch and re-created the puma step the rest is quite easy as it's all bolt on stuff. The Re-enforcing plate under the wheel arch just bolts on too.

I was researching this subject as SWMBO has a Puma 90 ex pick up with the square wheel boxes, I have a Puma 110 SW and have removed the two rearmost seats and wanted to fit them into the 90, same as the TD5, the problem is the square wheel box, you can purchase a replacement profile, which means cutting out part of the wheel box. You also have to re-inforce and sort out the seat belt mounts. The cost is several hundred pounds without the seats. In your situation I would go for the Exmoor seats, even though I have the Puma seats I think we'll probably go for the Exmoor seats as I think they'll be easier to fit (I'll have to get saving though!)
