Brake Warning Light
Hi there,

I have a 2010 Puma with 2.4 engine. The Brake Warning Light is always on. I've tested the handbrake switch and the oil level switch and they both work fine. Can anyone help me? The light is not flickering, just staying always on.

Sounds like you could have a short in the wiring you will have to chase the wiring looking for a short, the second cause is low fluid level in your braking system's master cylinder. Have you ABS? If so a faulty ABS sensor is usually the culprit.

Other than that is might be ECU fault try and get a code reader attached to see if there is a fault

I've already tried with the code reader but there were no fault codes. ok now i'll try checking out the wiring. better leave the abs thing for last. i read it also could be loose earth so better check the wiring.

Check wire from handbrake switch to loom, they can get damaged.

Check the master cylinder switch in he cap, the float might be stuck.

Mine did the same, took the plastic gaitor of the handbrake and the wire attached to the switch had the insulation broken and was shorting, taped up the wire, this resolved the problem.
