Certainly on my Nordic trip a steady 30-40mph a 1/2 tank seemed to last all day

Does anyone know what a v8 defender returns?

50mph is good. hence I've been paying the highways agency to sort the roads out. 50mph max for a good section on the M1 Thumbs Up plenty of 50mph zones on the M5 too Thumbs Up
Mr. Green

gives me more time to relax and get some good music going through my sub Thumbs Up

Just for interest, when running in my 2014 110 van at the end of July, I drove about 260 mainly motorway miles in one day on ordinary diesel and averaged 28.2 mpg. The van had only done about 100 miles from new before this.

Last week, with over 2100 miles on the clock, I filled up with Shell 'Nitro' (very expensive) diesel, drove 170 miles, mainly on fast A roads, and averaged 26.7 mpg.

I think I'll stick to the ordinary stuff.

It's very good thanks. I love driving it and it's working well as my van too. There's a leak into the passenger footwell but that can wait until it's serviced next March.

I've a feeling I'm not getting anything like 26 mpg day to day, but my credit card 'cashback' is thriving!

just like getting good economy....makes me smile (if only a little).

so going by this \/ (103 miles on the 1st 1/20th of a tank) I should be good for 2000 miles on this tank......

sadly I'm at almost halfway with only 230 miles on the clock now so 2,000 miles isn't going to happen Crying or Very sad

but should be another 500+ miles so ok.

Re: economy
i just refilled my 110 tdci and the light cam on at 642km, and it cost 114chf's to refill, what do you get on a tank to the bing/yellow refill light?

I think this works out as ...

114chf divided by 1.70chf/litre = 67 litres

9.58 litres per 100/km....

is that good or bad ???
That's really good,I have never seen much over 530km. Generally I'm well loaded running with the air on, and travelling at an indicated at 105km/h. When the light comes on it takes @62 litres to fill. Very Happy

Caterham - I've got to admire you're optimism.. I don't think any of us expect massive MPGs from our vehicles (and some are not interested) but it's nice to know we are all in the same ball park of 24-29 mpg for the tdci engines

Not sure if 90's return much more and if remaps make much difference

I'm off to look at a couple of replacements for my old green 110 today including a 2.0 petrol ....

90s return no more whatsoever and a remap 'encourages' you to change your driving style so that any gains to be had on economy are lost. Basically you get a more driveable truck and the mpg remains the same. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Very little in it between a 90 and 110 I'd have thought, same motor and all.
A bit of weight difference but again negligible difference really.
