When we were at Bowlers works we were told that Pete had been involved in helping developing the unique map for them. Not had a chance to drive one of their fast road Defenders yet to compare them. 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Hi
Bowler do not offer tuning on the Puma 2.4 and only deal with the new 2.2 they are producing road cars and rally cars from. If you need a puma 2.4 tune we have a couple of remove optionson our web site for this. Regards Pete |

I have the bowler stage 1, it has made a huge difference, the vehicle is so much easier to drive, its so responsive now, it rev's so freely up the rev range, and in defender terms goes like stink compared to what it was like previously, it does surprise a few cars on the road thinking its going to be slow, the torque is also improved up the rev range. I would totally recommend this upgrade.
I do also have a twisted full exhaust system which has also improved things further. i will be looking at the stage 2 in march next year... hope that helps.... Defender 90 HT XS 'Black Pack' - 2015 - Corris Grey & a few other bits Arriving Sept |

I have had two remaps over the years in land rovers that I've owned one. The first one was a Discovery 2 Td5 and was remapped by Gary at Alive. It was fabulous. The second was an autologic remap in my D3 which was underwhelming to say the least and ruined its low range/ offroad performance .
Helfinger - Can I ask : what effect has the bowler stage 1 re-map had on your low range performance? 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey Prince Harry's D3 (gone but not forgotten) 300 Tdi 110 CSW (gone but not forgotten) |

To be quite honest, i have not tried it in the low range box as the vehicle is only 7 weeks old....this defender is my day to day 2nd vehicle and will only spend its life on the road, the most it will be going off road, will be up curbs and road speed humps i'm afraid! The road going stage 2 can in some instances be a little better again than some of the rally cars, that is because the rally car is running a turbo restrictor in the turbo intake for MSA regulations.

One of the fitter ones then silly MSA rules not needed their then hehe.
Not sure what you and other people think but the suspention impresses me, I like the way it just sits their with no wallowing and bouncing about which helps you use the power without fear or rolling over lol. Click image to enlarge |
