CCTV remote monitoring without landline internet..
I want to install a remote CCTV system in my house, one that I can monitor remotely. Sadly I do not have a reliable internet service as I am supplied by overhead lines. My modem often needs rebooting every few hours, more often if it is windy. Are there any systems that will work with a SIM card rather than a hard wired modem? 1990 Defender 300TDi

You don't need to find a camera that can take a sim. There are wifi routers that you can use with a 3G/4G USB stick to create a separate wifi network for the camera(s). I used to use one in my motorhome.

The other option is to use a MIFI device.

Was thinking of a MIFI modem but most CCTV systems don't seem to be WIFI enabled, they just have an Ethernet socket. 1990 Defender 300TDi

You need a 3G/4G router then, which will have an ethernet port:

Edimax 3G Portable Router 3G-6210n
Huawei B593s-22
D-Link 4G LTE

I used to have the Edimax one and was very good.
