Puma power loss & fuel pump
Our MY07 recently conked out while driving. Total loss of power. The engine turned over but would not start. AA man thought fuel pump issue.

True enough, the vapouriser switch on the fuel pump had failed. £50 part and runnig again.

Apparently the early Pumas are low seeing fuel pump wear and tear. Ours is c.90,000 miles.

An annecdote I've heard from my brilliant independent, Foley's, is that with the same symptoms a blown rear window heater fuse, replaced, fixed the problem.

Hopefully this will help someone out at some point.

Will be glad to get the old girl back again.

Ok, I have to ask, what's the "vapouriser switch on the fuel pump"? Do you mean the Volume Control Valve perhaps?

Doubt it's the vcv @ £50, a vcv costs more than that Big Cry Big Cry

That's why I was puzzled, there's no other electrickery on the pump besides the VCV!

It will also run with the vcv unplugged, so am surprised it would conk out, with a knackered one.
