Warrior Samurai S9500HS winch
Can't find much info on these warrior winches, except technical. Looking for some experiences with this brand in general or specifically on these S9500HS type (12000lb are the same, but lower gearing).

Are they any good? What about spare parts, service...?

They seem good value. UK made. Seem compareble to goodwinch but a bit more powerfull and cheaper.

Also, saw a video that states if you replace the grease in your winch with swivel grease, they perform better as it is a thinner grease. It should lubricate better as well...?

Finally, experiences with these armortec ropes, compared to dyneema. Anyone have intel on that?

Wow, not much response. What I've read is impressive, so I find it weird no-one has any info on it.
Anyway, in an attempt to still get some feedback, I just upped this topic Twisted Evil

Have not used the Warrior winches myself so can not make any personal recommendations one way or another on them.

Speak/email Chris or Darren at the Electric winch shop http://www.electricwinchshop.co.uk/

Tell them exactly what your intended use is be it hard line winch challenge, pay and play, self recovery, pulling boat onto trailer etc. Have been with them when they have been advising customers and yes they were mentioning things like the seals, single/double etc and how waterproof things are.

So try contacting Chris and see what he says.

My advice on winches is always talk to David Bowyer, if it's about winches he knows it.

I think from memory of talking to him, the bars are too close to the drum on that winch and that causes it to self destruct. But it was a conversation a long time ago..

I have the 12,000 lbs one in a discreet bumper on my D3. I have used this in anger to recover a very stuck Toyota in a snow drift, and worked without any issues. I have found it great for occasional use, but not sure how it would fair under constant use. I've never had a problem with mine.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
John

I understand the 12000lbs is exactly the same except for a different gearing.
Personally I prefer a 9500lbs as I'd rather break the winch then bend the chassis.

In any case, very helpfull reply, as I prefer personal experience above hearsay.

How long was it fitted when you used it?

i also vote for Goodwinch TDS winches, in my experience they are the only lowlines that work after lots of neglect and infrequent use - which is the main killer of winches. they pull well and have very low current draw for what they pull comparably.

in comparison the OE fit Warn XDtis at work have to be stripped and cleaned out every other month due to water ingress! Cheers

I have the 12000 model and very impressed with it.

Used it for recovery, self recovery and mainly for pulling trees and timber. So far been very reliable and pulls extremely well.

For the price they take a lot of beating, and they are re badged Champion winches that were well respected.

Another vote for goodwinch. The speed of them is incredible and only matched by far more expensive winches. It may not sound much but it does make a huge difference. I also had to strip mine down after 3 years of being dunked into very deep water, there was no sign whatsoever of any water ingress. Thumbs Up 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6
