Have you tried our forum sponsor A Plan insurance ? May be worth a look.
I had similar issues trying to insure my son in a ten year old micro and eventually got him insured with a company called I Kube who fitted a Tracker that monitors their driving he was also curfewed between 11pm and 5 am these conditions got the premium down to only £1700 ! 2005 Td5 90 XS Steve |

I got quite a good deal Via adrian flux. By quite good deal I mean they would insure me and it not cost more than £2k a year
![]() Best advice is shop around and consider adding yourself to HIS policy not the other way around. If he is on your policy he will effectively not earn any no clams whereas if he has his own policy and you are a named driver he can still earn no claims and get a bit of a discount due to having a more experienced driver on it. Good luck, I know how hard it can be to get insurance as a youngster! And remember to read the small print! Some insurers put lots of restrictions on younger drivers ![]() Self confessed mileage hunter ![]() |

NFU aren't very interested in under 25's from my experience, nor am I keen on their attitude as I think they are mostly only interested in businesses (large ones) or farms etc.
I had Co- Op in early years, they were quite good. Then Aviva but they've got expensive so will be changing away soon. Use a comparison site and add named driver(s) with a penalty free licence might improve things. It might also be useful too, if someone needs to drive it other than yourself. |

Thanks everyone, it looks like it's going to be a few days on the phone to get this sorted. Will certainly give the site sponsors a go.
And I thought the rebuild was expensive! Should have left the V8 engine in and had a really good laugh trying to insure that! |

Thanks for everyone's help on the post. It looks like Aviva have come up with the best quote! When i say best, I mean the pile of bank notes required is not as large as the rest!
Thanks again Cheers Fra1l |
