Now that is a fine looking truck. Why change it?

Is it a matter of boredom, money burning a hole or change for change sake? Question If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks...

no just wondering would it look more "up to date" to change them over, i.e bigger rim, less sidewall and with 350+hp would it handle a little better!?

Still love the Tonka look Smile like most of us, always looking at ways to change, improve our defenders!

Rolling with laughter Bow down

I too am in the 'Tonka Team' certainly not everyone's taste and there are those quick to pour scoff and scorn upon your choice of look. As stated I think your truck looks great the way it is but with your BHP and those boots I can perhaps understand why you wish to change, yes it most certainly would improve handling if you are a fast road user. Sorry I cannot help but good luck in your quest.

Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

ha ha thanks!!!... I don't care what people think.. its my truck and my choice Wink but to be fair most people who see it, like it! you don't realise how much bigger it is until parked next to a standard one!.

Fast road isn't really what I do.. the suspension is Scorpion extreme off road system and although with the stiffer bushes we make pretty good progress on A roads.. I just cannot "chuck" it in to corners or turn under heavy breaking!! Smile

I just quite enjoy the noise and the shock people get off the lights!

Just buy another for the road......................

Extreme suspension, 350 brake only work well off road, only so many eggs you can fit in a box !!!!

What about a booster seat so you can see where you are going. Wink Andy.

Sometimes Sargeant, you are not even funny! Smile I can see just fine with the assistance of the suspension wheel/tyre combo, thanks!
Anyway... surprised you haven't offered to sell me something anyway! Umpa Lumpa discount?

This is a merely a "thought" based on mostly cosmetic appearance (based on the wave of bespoking!) with the possibility of some handling benefit.. I could never bring myself to make a "fast road defender".. I would just buy a sports car! lowering one is just wrong IMO....

I could take it off road, but it would get dirty! Wink

I told you the other day, you can't polish a turd but beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

I THINK THE TRUCK LOOKS GREAT AS IT IS. Thumbs Up Andy.

There you go.

Not to everyone's taste, but after running it in many guises over 8 years of ownership ,from standard, to all winched up, lifted, and running 315 tyres, this combo suits me for now.
It's all down to preference, and the flexibility of the defender means we can personalise to suit our circumstances at the time.

They are 275/55/20. When I first put them on I had it on standard height, but decided to lower it 1 inch. The difference is noticeable to road manners , but it keeps the flexibility for towing etc, however , obviously , green laning routes have to be more carefully chosen. Laughing ....... Depends what you want to achieve ?! ...... Boys and toys eh? Whistle

Phatcat, those 20s look great,......you need a set of AP 6 spots behind them though? Plenty of room for some nice big rotors too?

Thanks Chris..
The largest (closer to 34" dia) I have seen are 275 65 20's so keen to see what yours look like..

IF.... IF I change mine I need to be sure I still fill the extended archs and suit the lift.
