Not tried 2 stroke oil yet, but read that a small % of svo has same effect, something like 1 ltr / tank. I would not use the 2 stroke oil with the red dye in it tho' Whistle might take some explaining.
If your really unsure then don't. If your just a bit nervous, then tip 3 ltrs in next time you fill up. Within a couple of miles you should get the tell tale whiff front your rear end. Thumbs Up

Well despite any naysayers:

On diesel I get about 28 mpg

Veggie I get about 33mpg

Veggie cost me 90p/l last week

diesel cost me 148p/l

So an average 10k miles a year is 357 gallons of diesel, or 303 gallons of veggie.

At the prices above, diesel would cost 240204p (£2402), veggie, 123930p (£1239).

So yes there may be some initial start up costs, and maybe a dribble more oil changing, and yes there is still some diesel cost in the 10k miles (start up and flushing) but overall my wallet is a lot happier. Much more then 10p a week, for me at least.

Yes, you are missing something. You can use up to 2500l of vegie oil for personal transport use without informing HMRC.

Thanks, learnt something new.

technically you can run 2500L of BIO fuel and veg isn't bio fuel , to make proper bio fuel , the veg oil needs to be processed , heated , additives used etc to make it burn within the emission regs for bio grade fuel

so running veg oil without being processed in to bio fuel is techincally wrong in hrmc eyes

this was always the case not sure if anything has changed

that's why you see quite a few processors on eBay now , as by the time you do the processing , additives , filtering etc it's not really worth bothering
