I fitted my Zunsport grille a couple of weekends ago. It was very easy to fit and feels very secure, even with the ST-4s bolted in. I also removed and cut down the factory-fit LR badge and mounted it onto the new grille for an 'OEMplus' look Rolling Eyes

In general terms, I'm very pleased indeed. My only slight reservations are that it is very difficult to get the positioning of the lamps bang on (mind you, the amount of light they chuck out means that it doesn't really matter...) and that the factory fit grille has marred the paintwork on the grille cowl (though a mild wet sand and polish will have it back up to par).

The grille is expensive, but at least they throw the lights in for free Thumbs Up

Okay, so they're not particularly good photographs, but you get the gist:

I'm still undecided myself. I have a silver 90 without a/c and can't choose between the nakatanenga heritage or kbx, both in black Big Cry

@ Ronin - Looks very nice. I'm considering the Lazerlamps grille and wondered how easy the wiring was to do for a non-electrician?

Thanks in advance. Defender Puma 2.2 XS 90

I'm no auto-electrician, but I took my time and found the whole process simple and enjoyable. There is a really helpful diagram on this website (I think it was originally produced by 'The Boy') which I used because I wanted to do a proper job and to use the standard LR auxillary light dash switch (rather than have the LEDs illuminate with the headlight flash*). I bought all the bits and pieces I needed (including the relay) from these chaps: http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/ and it was far cheaper than cobbling it all together from Halfrauds. All of the wiring I installed runs through convoluted tubing and the whole shebang is adequately fused.

Devon4x4 also sell a Lazer wiring kit for £50ish which makes the whole process very simple indeed, just in case you're still feeling nervous.

As long as you can give yourself half a day or so and can handle basic DIY, I'd recommend that you give it a go.

Joel

* I believe that this is illegal, but I already have a headlight flash-triggered relay secured in the battery box and will substitute this before my first MOT (in July 2016...).

Hi All,

I like the original look and would like a gloss black original type grille ala the one fitted to the "Black Pack" but on enquiry they want £400 all in for the 3 bits.
Does anyone know if these are available elsewhere, i.e Britpart etc as it seems i can get the centre grille in gloss although theres some doubt it'll fit a 2007 > model but i can't seem to get the headlight surrounds ?
At the moment i'm looking at getting some new matt ones and having them sprayed Santorini black as i want to keep my XS grey ones to maybe put back on if/when i sell it but i'm not sure just a grille will fit or do i need the extended for A/C grill complete ?
I was thinking (hoping) the plastic grille part could just be replaced ?
Does anyone have experience of doing this or similar please ?

Thanks,
Mark

sell your grey ones on eBay (or keep them)

buy some standard grilles off eBay or any parts supplier and then sand, prime, paint and lacquer them. I've just got standard black ones on mine but been meaning to get around to painting them properly in gloss black.

Lacquer is important otherwise stone chips take the paint off and it looks rubbish. Cheers, David
