One of the wires split on my turbo plug.

Hi.
You can get a repair like mentioned here http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic24288....ring+turbo I had a broken wire on mine - added a new length of wire and it worked again - but there was a bit more wire after the plug. If you have a soldering iron you could solder a flylead to the connector and then inline splice to the existing detached cable perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

take the terminal out of the plug , using very very small screwdriver ( terminals normally clipped in the plug by small metal clip on the terminal that needs the be released then pulled on of plastic plug) then solder flylead to terminal is I think what K9F is talking about

Yes if it is the right type of connector the terminals can be released with a small flatblade watchmakers/instrument screwdriver from the front and extracted individually. Some extract rearwards and some forwards dependant on the type of connector. Once finished it can simply be reinserted and it will lock automatically. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
