I think if they vote Yes, house prices will plummet in Scotland as people will have to move to the UK for work. This will further increase the house prices in England.
I also think tourism for them will be badly effected. The English are far less likely to holiday there because of their dislike of us and the separation it's self and that makes up a huge element of their tourism |

According to newsnight today Scotlands GDP £115 billion .....i like your exchange rate ..........this GDP IS SUPPORTED BY THE REST OF THE UK.....it wont be that post independence.........scotland has poor transport links to europe its foolish thinking that they wont face harder times at least in the short term following independance. Look at Irelands experience post 1921..........The danes have a very long time to develop their country. and have found their niche in europe and are surrounded by similarly run countries ... Denmark is a high wage high tax and expensive social care system, which i admire but multinational companies given a choice will locate south of the border to our lower tax lower wage system.......... |

So Scotland never gets the government it votes for........
1951 Scotland voted Tory; we got a Tory Govt. 1955 Scotland voted Tory; we got a Tory Govt. 1959 Scotland voted Tory; we got a Tory Govt.... 1964 Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt, however England voted Tory. 1966 Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt. 1974 (February) Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt, however England voted Tory, 1974 (October) Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt. 1979, 1983, 1987 & 1992 we had a Tory Govt thanks to the motion of No Confidence in Jim Callaghan's Labour Govt that the SNP tabled. When Thatcher realised that the SNP were siding with her she then tabled her own motion of No Confidence, which took precedence over the SNP's motion. Supported by the 11 SNP MPs her motion of No Confidence was carried by 1 vote. The SNP are responsible for starting the Thatcher years. 1997 Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt. 2001 Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt. 2005 Scotland voted Labour; we got a Labour Govt. 2010 Nobody got the Govt they voted for - only 7 months to go to the next election. In 1999, Labour delivered devolution and no one can dispute that in 1997, 2003, 2007 and 2011 Scotland got what it voted for." 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6 1994 Def 90 300tdi |

Thoroughly sick to the back teeth of the endless incessant media speculation and polling Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Honestly sick of the whole thing. when can we have an English government???? The fear of death is the most unjustified of all fears, for there's no risk of accident for someone who's dead.

Sick of it...I think it's only just beginning,
If I have this independence 'procedure' right, and the Yes camp wins by say 51% to 49% or let's just say 'a close victory' The outcome may not be judged as a win for Salmond and the argument will then be put that 'you haven't won with enough of a mandate from the Scottish people so you're not getting independence'. If this happens, then the gloves really will be off The flip of this, a narrow defeat for independence by few % and the message will probably be 'you've had your chance Alex, it's now off the table'. Overall, sitting here in England, I have been disappointed by the level of political debate, and in particular the degree of uncertainty that remains over all the key issues following a Yes vote, both sides have failed here, and the vote if you have one, looks to me to be based on emotion first. Still hoping the Union survives, but will be surprised if it is granted if the difference is 1%. SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

Are bookmakers cashing in on this? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
