Scotland...in or out ?
David Cameron said "You don't have a vote, but you do have a voice"...

Whilst some of us on here will have a vote (which I believe will be)...

Should Scotland be an independent country?

How would the rest of us vote... with "our voice" Question

I'd prefer Scotland to be part of the UK, but if the Scots want to go it alone then it's their choice.

Cheers

I think it's their choice.
People have to ask themselves why they are even considering it in the first place.
They want equality and a say, not to be domineered and pushed into a corner like their opinions up there don't count.

I can't really see any benefit from them leaving.

However if it does go through I can see the Welsh wanting independence, then "The Free United Peoples Republic of the Isle of White"

What would be interesting is to see what the reaction would be if Europe wanted independence from Great Britain?

Remind me why UKIP were so popular at the last elections? Sick of being in a union where laws are passed by a detached group with largely different priorities to those needed locally. Worried about losing identity. Feel we can do a far better job of self governance without outside interference. etc. etc.

I assume every single person who voted UKIP will also be voting for Scottish independence.

Sadly I think the irony will be lost on most of them though.

I don't see what Scotland is going to gain. They'll lose the £ sterling, Euroland have said they won't be allowed the Euro. So are they going back to shiny stones and bits of glass.
Are they going to reclaim all Scottish soldiers from the UK MOD?
WHat will they do to make money? Tourism and whiskey.......

To be fair if there was a fund, I'd chuck a fiver in and help buy some concrete blocks to build the wall up Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

But as people have said Mr Salmond seems to be the only 1 who wants it. I reckon he'll Censored a brick if he gets it. He doesn't have enough policy's to set up a country and make it successful.

Cornwall will be next!

Whilst both Cornwall and Scotland are beautiful places I say let them go if it's the general consensus of the populous. It'll not be a life changing event for 'me and mine' either way! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

The Union is stronger with Scotland in it.

I like the way Mr Salmond keeps portraying the NO campaign as being too negative .

No is a negative word so it is difficult to use it positively.
The yes campaign have played a better hand but it is like a card trick all show and no substance.

From a general point of view, cutting up land into ever smaller countries isn't in anyone's best interest. The UK (including Scotland and Wales) has to compete on a global scale and there's definitely more safety in numbers.
Or to put it another way, Luxemburg, Lichtenstein and Andorra aren't really taken seriously by the rest of Europe (now waiting to be flamed...) Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Usually if there is a drive toward breaking away, it is coming from a confirmed and continuous stronger part of a country which is getting fed up with the uninterrupted money transfers to and the subsidizing of other weaker economic regions of a country which then also is accompanied by an ongoing lack of respect and recognition by the receiving party.... As is the case with Belgium, where an increasing number of people in the richer Flanders is getting fed up with Wallonia exactly for a combination of the above reasons. My humble opinion from overseas is that Scotland have little to win from breaking away, so think that the below country emblem better remain actual and not go down into the history books.

I guess I better look for my hat again now... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
