Hi team!
Fancy upgrading my headlights to the wipac crystals with decent bulbs (night breakers). The issue I'm finding is lots of versions of the alleged same thing all with varying price tags, which are genuine? Devon 4x4 very cheap http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page=sho...;Itemid=14 Paddock http://www.paddockspares.com/pm678-wipac-c...ralia.html Alive http://www.alivetuning.com/alive-boutique/...uct_id=156 Anyway sure you get the picture, where should I buy from and what's genuine/what isn't? Thanks in advance gang |

Fitting wipac crystals with decent bulbs (night breakers) will give you marginally better light but to get the optimum lighting from this combination you will need to fit a replacement headlight harness taking power directly from the starter battery, that way you will get the proper wattage to the bulbs which will give you a white bright light rather than the slightly yellow light you will get without doing this modification
Have a look at this thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic26097....light+loom You can buy the harness quite cheaply off ebay links to this are in the above thread |

I have done this on two of my vehicles -just replaced with Wipac Crystals and the night breakers - I didn't upgrade the harness - there was still a massive improvement over standard - literally took 5 minutes to do. Avoid the cheap Crystals and make sure they are Wipac.

I'm with Grouse on this, Wipac crystals + nightbreakers + a little bling
I make a few of these up and pop them on eBay to help fund bits and pieces for the Landy. I get my Crystals from JGS 4x4. At £39 a pair I'm not sure they are the cheapest around but they provide a good service. The Devon headlights look identical and are a good price although I'm guess that's for a single headlamp. If it's for a pair I'd bite their hand orf! At 20 quid from D4x4 and advertised as wipac units I don't think you can go wrong, as long as their postage isn't astronomical.
The alive ones come with bulbs as well but it doesn't specify a brand? How much is a set of nightbreakers? |

Don't suppose you could take some pictures of one light with the night breakers and one with the standard bulb, would just like to get an idea of how much brighter they are.

Sorry if this is a daft question, but the 'halo' around the lights - is that just how the picture turned out or is that how it looks with the sidelights on? Looks very nice.
Also, would there be an improvement over std lamps? I've just had a look and mine are Wipac Quadoptic's fitted with Nightbreaker H4's. Would the Crystal's be any different? Do you have a link to your eBay items? Click image to enlarge[/quote] |
