I'd be interested to hear how much difference the turbo makes. I've been in email contact with Gary and it's certainly the next upgrade on my list (after sorting out better air intake with a Nakatanenga kit.) 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Amazing photos! Wish I lived somewhere like that. One of my favourite Landis on here. Glad to see that you have decided to keep hold of her?? What made you change your mind with regards to selling?

Decided to keep it as every dealer I went too looking at new cars told me I couldn't sell it...

I still would sell it for the right price and build a overland truck but tbh if I built a overland truck it would look similar but with winch / Hannibal rack / more lights... I am however fairly against drilling body panels, the snorkel was factory fitted so didn't have much choice but like the look of it

I'm really looking forward to the turbo & 6 pot brakes think I want ap racing rather than Alcon

Strange that they told you that. I would of thought it would of been snapped up pretty quickly for the right price, especially with what you have done to her. Kinda glad it didn't work out that way though.
Would be really interested to hear what difference the remap and brakes make.
I had Alcon disks on a Subaru years ago with pagid blue pads. They were amazing brakes and made a huge difference to the car. Bit of a different motor but was a great upgrade.
What power upgrade is it going to take it to?

Main reason for the brakes is when I drive hartside pass between the lakes and Newcastle, the standard brakes fade a fair bit and the big ones look really good... Very Happy

Did you use Gary's lowering kit?...I believe it's around 1"-1.5" & makes the defender sit flat. So you also used Bilstein B6, and what about an anti roll bar?....Thinking of doing this stuff myself one day.
Glad you went with the AP 6 spots,...simply THE BEST. You will now need a set of 4 spots for the rear.

yup, alives lowering kit, didn't bother with the ARB but while im at there workshop will probably purchase it

at first you wont believe the difference between stock and alive springs,
makes the car sit so much nicer especially with the big wheels.

don't think i'm going to bother with the rear brakes, at least not the near future.

Likeomg, thank for your reply.
I've had the AP 6 spots on a previous car, like I said, they are the ultimate,..IMHO anyway.
Their performance is awesome, & they "look" very good, a quality product, ..anyone looking at your car would know, "this guy puts good stuff on his vehicle",...not that that's important.
I've always been of the opinion that putting such a great set of brakes on the front, thereby massively increasing their efficiency, could, in some instances, upset the brake "balance", if you don't do the rears as well..
I also think that the standard calipers look pretty ordinary compared to the AP item, so to complete the "package", & to get the best performance, I'd always fit 'em front & rear.
Of course, just my thoughts, Pickles.

Glad you're thinking of AP rears, "after the next contract",....it'll just complete the package,...Damn the expense!...And you will have the best brake package on the planet.
Any Pics?
Pickles.

6 pot's went on today, ordered the 4 pot rears before the fronts were even fitted! will be a couple months for rears as they are special build aps.

clearance even with my big 18" wheels is about 4mm, a wheel balancing weight wouldnt even fit in the clearance...

a quick word of advice is to put some sort of anti corrosion stuff on the pins in ap calipers , as the steel pins seize in the ally caliper and can be a real nightmare to get out without damaging the caliper

I've had to cut the pins and get the pads out then work on getting the pins out before
