I got a new gearstick fitted under warranty and it was as yours is... 6th gear 60+. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

What mileages were yours at? Mine has only done 5k?

Very similar - there is a technical reference for detents thats one. All you need to do is change the selector guide - not the whole unit - its probably something silly like a build flaw that wears the original, which means the new part correctly fitted cures it...like i said in previous posts - it did for me UNTIL the idiots broke the selector and i was back to square 1. If they did what i advised (change the guide) then that would explain what it seems like its fixed. Mike |

Mr Woo... YES, my new gearstick at 6,0000m cured the rattle 100%. "Morrisons" were in possesion af a bulletin to renew if customer complained and the ball end of the stick was badly machined. It drove me crazy on a 400 mile trip and i believe the selectors are not an issue. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

The problem is the selector guide is made of plastic so it will wear again NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

They replaced the Gearbox because of this and bad selection NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY
