RDX LED relay it does what it says on the tin!!
Just fitted the RDX relay from Bolt On Bits.
Since I fitted LED indicators I have struggled with several LED flasher relays including the WIPAC one and a relay from Mobile centre, but I could not get the trailer warning light to stop flashing every time I indicated without a trailer attached.

So I finally went for the RDX one, result no more trailer warning light flashing when no trailer attached, but flashes when a trailer is attached. Also a nice little clicking warning sound and indicators flashing at the right speed.

I've got the same no complaints. Thumbs Up
One tip though, adjust with the engine running not with just the ignition so that the voltage is higher.
This way you get the quickest possible flash rate but with the trailer light off.
If you do it with just the ignition on it'll seem right but when the motor is running the trailer light will start coming on.

Just wish they did a 24volt version! I have the Mobilecentre one fitted at the moment and I don`t like the flash rate as it`s very slow. Also does not have the trailer light function which I want so will probably end up fitting an original Landrover flasher unit and some resistors. Crying or Very sad

Sadly for us 50th's owners a total b*****d to fit as we have to remove shed loads of things and skin knuckles to get to where the relay fits. The Rules:-

Why is it more difficult ? Do you have a different dash ?

The flasher relay is buried under the transmission tunnel behind where the other relays are and this needs to be removed for access to this one relay. The Rules:-

Will you ned to fit load resistors to your trailer lights
The trailer must be using incandescent bulbs or LED lamps with load resistors for the Trailer light to flash. It cannot detect trailers solely on LED lamps it will make them flash ok but will not flash the trailer light as the extra load is too little to detect.

I do not know of a relay that will 'see' LED lights on a trailer and light up the warning light, although the RDX relay will flash the trailer lights it will not light up the warning light, but I suppose you could live with that.

Your not supposed to tow with it not working though I think.
Most likely would need load resistors indeed. But depends on the resistance.

or fit a buzzer and forget about the dash light

mine (buzzer) works with leds or bulbs (have trailers with both)

cant see the point in leds with resisters

I cannot see the point with resistors either nor that some people put a 20 Wat bulb into the circuit

Tis a easy job however now that I have fitted a proper head unit and heated seats it will take a little longer to remove Thumbs Up

I was going to test first with a led tailboard

I'm not worried if the dash light illuminates

Thanks for the heads up Thumbs Up
