^^^I was hoping that the super ground plane provided by the roll cage would be enough. I've scraped the paint off the roll cage so there is direct metal-to-metal contact between the mount and cage. The cage is multiple located to the chassis/roof/rear tub etc

To conclude this, I got a new aerial, mount and cable/connectors and I now have a 1.3 SWR reading across all channels.
Very pleased, not sure which of the above made the biggest difference but glad it did. Cheers Simon |

It might be worth considering a artificial ground plane, made a big difference on my set up.

Have you an Earth from the Antenna Mount to the Chassis? Might make a big difference. NormanD WE191
