Brake pedel travel
Hi all after owning my 90 for 5 weeks and had to replace water pump , Hub oil seal and sort out alarm its now developed excessive brake pedal travel but not all the time most times its as it should and then next time you brake the pedal travels almost to the floor but still brakes and if you pump pedal once its back to normal , Theres no air in system and pads are like new . Has anyone got any idea what could be at fault . Its a 2007 puma .
cheers daz

Sounds like the wheel bearing is lose allowing the wheel to wobble and push the brake pistons back. A couple of prods on the brake pedal pushes the pistons back to the right place, until the wheel wobble knocks them back again.

Jack up the car and see if the wheels wobble.

cheers

If you suspect the m/c get somebody to press the brake pedal and look for bubbles or fluid moving about in the reservoir,if the seals have gone/going,the brake fluid re-circulates back into the reservoir instead of being forced down the brake lines. If its none ABS,an oem m/c is about £60ish, ABS will cost nearly treble. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Hi jimbob7 , When I press the brake pedal the fluid rises in the reservoir does this mean its the master cylinder that's at fault . cheers daz ..
