My own experience from start to finish is very poor, I passed my test in a 90 and since than have owned 11 defenders, when I went to buy the last I was treated like s**t to such an extent that I bought it from a specialist (not just by one franchised dealer). I have had issues and on occasion the right noises are made but the result is the same total don't-give-a-toss attitude! but who are the idiots? Oh yes - we are, we keep buying them.......... We know the standard of service we will get - a short trawl through this and many other forums will provide the same story over and over again with Mike and his ilk telling us "this shouldn't have happened" but it does, again and again and again, and we still buy them, nothing changes - we keep spending our money, they keep taking it off us and treating us like s**t............. Will I buy another? My wife has already vetoed the idea of a freelander or RRS - why? Coz we currently were told our new 110 would be with us "end of June, early July" no sign of it yet- updates? Have to chase them and get treated like s**t by the dealers who have had our money since April...... Walk into the Isuzu garage and wow! They work on a Sunday!!! They can give a delivery date! they treat you like you exist! But agin, will Land Rover change and suddenly give a toss about there defender customers? Of corse not, there are plenty of FL, FFR, RRS, RRE and Discovery customers to provide more income and as I have said before - we keep buying them!

It's the same in Germany Sad

Shortly after I bought mine (from Köln) I needed warranty work done...
Avalon Premium Cars in Munich (the only warranty-approved JLR dealer near here) were useless and treated me like crap. They wouldn't give me any kind of loan car "because there was public transport nearby" - but they didn't offer a train ticket either Evil or Very Mad and they Censored up repeatedly.
So I changed to Auto Kohler in Landsberg. Sure, they are an hour away but they were always polite, helpful (even "generous") and did good work. They always offered me a loan car or bus/train tickets and treated me with respect Thumbs Up
It was like night and day!
Now the 110 is out of warranty, I use the local Indie who seems very competent (but still expensive).

It shouldn't be like this but I guess it's human nature. It depends where you go and who you get on the day Rolling Eyes Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Unfortunately when you live on a peninsula like me, we only have one dealer and no choice in the matter. That dealer (Carrs of Truro in my case) can give absolutely terrible service, forever, and survive because the customers don't have any other choice if they want to own a modern LR. 5 Land Rovers and a Corsa!

This is why I just follow Jeremy & James - that way I know someone who cares is keeping an eye out, and why I am using a dealer who are now an hour and a half away. 2011 110 USW
